Trinity Learning began in October 2009, when Trinity Church, Abingdon, appointed Rosemary Perrow as their Education & Development Officer. Her remit was to explore ways in which the church could use its time, talents and space to enhance the quality of life for all those working in local schools – both students and staff.
Since then, Trinity Learning has provided small group workshops for over 3500 students from 22 local schools. Our projects range from “Putting Yourself First” INSET sessions for staff teams to Supported Work Experience. The church is regularly used as an outside classroom and we have developed a real partnership with our local primary school, helping to become a Beacon School for The Peaceful Schools Movement.
All our activities are supported by qualified staff, but our outreach would not be possible without our 80-or-so volunteers, who come from almost every church in the town. Their dedication is a testimony to the value we put on our school communities.
